Lamy, the direct general of World Trade Organization (WTO) gave a positive appraisal to China's performance since admitted to the WTO when he was interviewed by Switzerland Le Temps on Oct. 28, he said China had always followed the "play rules" of the WTO since China's admittance into the WTO in 2001, China had realized its commitments for entering WTO from reducing duty to opening market.

Lamy thought China currently was suffering the unprecedented pressure from the query of USA and EU on its failure to completely fulfill its commitments for entering WTO and the reason was related with the coming expiration of China's transition period of five years. In Lamy's opinion, China, just like the condemnations of USA and EU to China, has the right to condemn the other parties in the free trade organization WTO. Lamy announced that a great power like China with a population of 1.3 billion, has the difficulty to make all its local governments, ports to act totally in compliance with the stipulations of WTO.
