On this July 1, the RoHS mandamus of EU came into force that the electronic toys exported to EU are requested not containing any lead, mercury, cadmum, etc. 6 hazardous materials in total; on the 16th of this month, China and EU concluded the agreement of "Safer Toy Route Map", which requires electronic toys to reach certain medical hygiene and security standards. Bonded by the two barriers, toy export enterprises are suffering rising production cost. Furthermore, in comparison with the previous fairs, there are less booths for electronic toys in this year's Guangzhou Fair.
"The price is raised at least 10%, others I will lose money", Mr. Huang Xiaolong, the superintendent of Jinjiang Xinling Electronics Co., Ltd., told the reporter. When the RoHS mandamus is carried into execution, to keep the market of EU requires the manufactures to adopt the plastic and steel products in compliance with the security standards of toys of the EU. In so doing, the raw material cost is increased by 10% at least; on the other hand, the originally purchased materials may be put in disuse.
So in the Guangzhou Fair many electronic toys manufacturers expressed they would raise price by 10% at least and the clients know the practical situation.
