Before introducing our country's medical appliance sterilization packing status, it is necessary to understand the conception of "medical appliance sterilization packing". ISO11607, EN868 series as well as GB19633 (equivalent to ISO11607), are all authority standards for medical appliance sterilization packing. Based on the understanding and analysis with these standards, the author thinks it possible to divide medical appliance sterilization packaging into initial packaging and subsidiary packaging. In the base case, the sterilization packaging of medical appliance product refers to the initial packaging of product, i.e. the part directly touching the product and becoming the barrier against microorganism; the subsidiary packaging is mainly the package design involving the protection, convenience and traceability in the storage and circulation process of the product in its life cycle, and covers carton, plastic bag, label, bar code, printing, tray and container, etc. This article only focuses on the initial packaging of medical appliance sterilization product without coverage on the latter.
